Cha-am Located in the heart of the rapidly developing
SOMA (South of Market) district, Cha-Am has become a
well-known and popular, neighborhood lunch and dinner
spot for those visiting the Yerba Buena Gardens,
Center for the Arts, the Moscone Convention Center
and the highly acclaimed Museum of Modern Art. Local
San Franciscans, as well as tourists, enjoy
Cha-Am’s modern, elegant decor, accented with a
blend of art-deco and traditional Thai ceramic
pottery and beautifully framed Thai paintings. Its
spacious dining area affords ample room for
relaxation and privacy. Cool, soft jazz affords a
perfect mix. The authentic Thai cuisine, inspired by
the owner’s family home cooking, is exquisitely
delicious to the Western palate.
Cha-Am,
San Francisco, opened in 1993, has secured its
regular clientele and plans to continue its proud
tradition well into the future. Chef and proprietor
Yotin Srisawat, who grew up in the coastal towns of
Cha-Am and Hua-Hin, proudly follows in the footsteps
of his mother who is still an excellent cook at her
home in Thailand. Yotin also follows his two very
successful brothers, owners of Cha-Am, Berkeley, a
popular East Bay spot for over a decade now, and
Hua-Hin, also in Berkeley, which opened in 2003.
